Elpis Israel in Russian—An Appeal for Help

In the past weeks The Lampstand has received the translation of Elpis Israel Part 1 in Russian with the request that we print it for our brethren and sisters worldwide who read Russian. The translation was undertaken by Sister Irina Andronikova of St Petersburg and proof read by Brother Victor Sluczewski of Briansk, Russia. There are now several hundred Russian speaking brethren and sisters spread from Eastern Europe through the former Soviet Union territory to Mongolia and also down into Israel. Those of us who have benefited from reading Elpis Israel will know the value that such a book can be to diligent Bible readers.

Because of the time required to translate such a work it has been decided to print Part 1 now, rather than wait for the other two parts of Elpis Israel to be completed. We feel that it is wiser to print and distribute the book while we still have the freedom to do so rather than risk not being allowed to in a year or so’s time. We are certain that readers will appreciate the sense in this decision.

You may recall that The Lampstand, with the financial support of many brethren and sisters, has printed the following works in Russian for these brethren and sisters—The Blood of Christ, The Declaration and Thirteen Lectures on the Apocalypse. We see this work as a continuation of our commitment to assist our Russian speaking brethren and sisters through our pioneer writings.

How You Can Support This Project

Funds are needed to meet the cost, not only of printing Elpis Israel but the added expense of postage to our brethren and sisters. If you would like to contribute to this work donations can be sent to “The Lampstand—Eastern European Projects” PO Box 98, St Agnes 5097, South Australia. Also, if you attend an Elpis Israel Class, you may suggest that a collection be taken there for this work or you may like to mention the idea of an ecclesial donation or special collection for this project to your ecclesia.

It is hoped that the printing can be commenced before the end of the year but if this is impossible then it will be a priority in the new year, God willing. We are encouraged in this work through the warm letters of thanks from our Russian speaking brethren and sisters who have received the other works that have been sent to them. They certainly do appreciate this help in their spiritual growth. We therefore ask that you give this project serious consideration.
