Finally! Famous homosexuals in FidoNet revealed!!

PERSON NUMBER ONE: Those whispering rumors you hear? (Psst. I heard
Tom Jennings is gay...) I hate whispering rumors. Sneaky accusations
and whatnot.

Look -- it's no secret, I'm as out as can be, and the reason you don't
hear about it more is that people are afraid or something to repeat
it. Why, I have no idea. It's merely fact, like I'm tall & skinny.

And yes, it *does* absolutely and directly pertain to FidoNet. FidoNet
is based upon anarchist principles of self-reliance and self-
determination, with a healthy distrust of power over others (see item
THREE). Precisely influenced by my experiences in life. It doesn't
matter if you don't like it, it's still fact. So there. I don't mind
that most of you are heterosexual, as long as you don't bother me with
it. OK? (Truly, it hasn't generally been a problem.)

Editorial: Remotely yours


My electronic world is deteriorating. I have to call in at 300 baud to
edit this rag (sic) due to problems with the phone line here at my
(new) boyfriends house here in the Pacific NorthWest.

I have to admit that I'm not doing a particularly good job this week;
I've fallen terribly in love with a wonderful punk boy, and won't be
back at the end of the month like I said. Don't worry, I wont inflict
lovey-dovey garbage on FidoNews readers. People in love are sooo
disgusting to be around (just ask his roommate).

Our FWI prez recently had a chance to chat with Tom Jennings, who commented
afterwards: "Think you can mention somewhere that I'm a fag anarcho nerd
troublemaker/activist? It is important, and to me as well. It always gets
buried. Lots of people like to know, especially scared people with no images of
people who are gay and reasonably functional in some way." Tis our pleasure to
honor Tom, whose work has been so brilliant and so far out on the Fringe, that
when the US gov't precluded computer technology exports during the Cold War,
they basically forgot/ignored a certain fag anarcho nerd from the Bay Area...
As a result, Tom's FidoNet now provides the basis for computer networking in
Eastern Europe, former USSR and most of the Third World, as well as a
extraordinary conduit throughout the rest of the world.
